Greg is the Managing Director of Gateway Survey & Planning Pty Ltd. He graduated with a Batchelor of Surveying from the University of Queensland in 1978, and registered with the Surveyor's Board of Queensland in 1981 as a Registered Surveyor with Cadastral and Consulting endorsements. He has substantial cadastral survey experience including subdivisions, leases, easements, identification surveys and mining lease surveys.
Greg has over 30 years experience in the surveying profession and has been responsible for the project management of many subdivision projects of various sizes from infill developments to green field sites. He has also gained extensive experience in engineering and mapping projects throughout the state.
Greg was a member of the Institution of Surveyors, Australia and was Chairman of the Northern Group in 1998 and Qld Divisional Committee Board Member 2000-04. The Institution was merged with the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute of which Greg is a founding member. He is also a member of the Spatial Industries Business Association.
Greg purchased the established survey practice (Milton Lovell & Associates) in 1999, overseeing it’s transformation to Gateway Survey & Planning. During this time the company has quadrupled in size, gaining the confidence of many new clients.
He is endorsed by the Department of Environment and Resource Management as an Accredited Surveyor allowing Gateway Survey & Planning to provide a streamlined titling process. He has had extensive experience throughout Queensland, having previously held the position of director and shareholder of a major north Queensland multi-disciplinary practice.
Greg has considerable experience as a town planning and development consultant, gained whilst overseeing development applications of varying size such as infill small lot subdivisions, multi-unit developments, and large scale subdivision applications. In 2008, Greg gained RiskSmart accreditation with Brisbane City Council.

Paul graduated from the University of Queensland in 1978, and completed an Associate Diploma in Business Management with the College of Technical and Further Education in 1994. He was registered with the Surveyor’s Board of Queensland as a Cadastral Surveyor in 1984 and has over 30 years experience in various government and private practice roles including the former Department of Water Resources on the Burdekin Irrigation Scheme as a Cadastral Surveyor and more recently with Redland City Council as the Survey Services Manager. Paul has had extensive experience throughout Queensland and has been responsible for the project management of numerous cadastral, engineering, photogrammetric and contour and detail survey projects of varying size.
Paul is a member of the Institution of Surveyors, Australia (now Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute) and is endorsed by the Department of Environment and Resource Management as an Accredited Surveyor.
Paul’s current role is as a project manager in charge of various surveying and development projects on behalf of numerous clients.

Michael graduated from the Queensland University of Technology in 2003 with a Bachelor of Built Environment majoring in Urban and Regional Planning. Since that time Michael has gain vast experience in preparing development applications within the Brisbane City Council and the surrounding Council areas. Experience in the areas of subdivision (reconfiguration), character housing, small lot housing and small commercial developments have allowed Michael to provide professional advice on many and varied planning matters.
Michael completed his Graduate Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning (QUT) in 2005 which has given Michael a more holistic and informed approach to planning in the growing South-East Queensland Region. During his studies, Michael participated in group work which was acknowledged by the Planning Institute of Australia (QLD division) in 2005 with an Award for Planning Excellence in the area of Tertiary Students Projects. Michael is also skilled in subdivision design, having worked on small and large subdivisions and concepts for Master Planned Communities.
Michael forms part of the Gateway Survey & Planning and Town Plan Assist team and often spends time at both offices providing comprehensive and informed advice in all planning scheme area.
Michael also has a growing interest in Architecture and the facilitation of quality living environments in urban areas as such he can provide advice to make living environments more liveable whilst complying with the Council’s planning scheme and policies.
Ellen Mc Donogh
BTRP (Town and Regional Planning), University of Pretoria
Ellen graduated at the University of Pretoria in 1998 with a Bachelor of Town and Regional Planning. Since then Ellen has gained vast experience in Johannesburg, in project management, town planning procedures and layout design, as well as had extensive exposure to other fields of expertise such as environmental, geotechnical, civil and traffic engineering. She is skilled in layout design having had much experience in large residential/commercial subdivisions and structure plans varying in size from a couple of hundred lots to several thousand lots.
A few years ago, Ellen completed a course in Business Administration to broaden her knowledge on Business Management and Finance.
Ellen relocated to Brisbane in February 2010, where she joined Gateway Survey and Planning and forms part of the team at Town Plan Assist. Ellen is quickly gaining experience with local town planning procedures and legislation applicable in Queensland and has already been exposed to various projects relating to subdivision, multiple-unit developments, duplex and material change of use in the Brisbane area and surrounds.
